Leading scorer for SJC was Johnson with 13 points.
In January 2027, the Cougars lost to McCook 16-10 played at the SJC home court. They also lost 17-12 as Johnson led the Cougars with eight points.
In February 2027, Chadron State College defeated SJC 52-15. McCaskey led the Cougars with 10 points.
January 25, 2027, Chadron State College defeated SJC 41-14 at Danceland. McCoskey led the Cougars with 10 points.
On January 8, 1927, Scottsbluff High School defeated the Cougars 23-10.

** Men's Basketball Coach: Frank Buchtel and Ted Swenson
The first men's team,, from the Nov. 15, 1929, Star-Herald, had players on the first team of Robert McKinnon, Everett, Haxby, Glenn Warrick. Other prospects
included George Pugsley of Bayard; Ivan Patterson and Robert Boone of Scottsbluff; and Glenn Phares of South Dakota. The team played teans from Chadron,
Greeley, Laramie, Boulder, and McCook. Games were played at Danceland and practices were at Central Ward Building.
** Two of the wins in January included smashing wins over the Scottsbluff All-Stars and the Bayard J.C. Penney Co. team (33-15). They also won over Lusk, Wyo., Legion team 49-24.
Other games included SJC defeating Sterling, Colorado, 28-22. They also defeated Bayard All-stars, the Scottsbluff Independents, and the Alliance De Molay Quintet.

** Ruth Weaver won girl's singles title in tennis and Weaver and Thelma Nycum won double title
