Athlete Of The Week

Female Athlete of the Week -- Taylor Joplin-- Female Athlete of the Week for the Week Ending January 12 -- Taylor Joplin, a sophomore from Garden Plain, Kansas, had a big game in the Lady Cougars first game back afte rthe break in an 85-77 win over NJC. Joplin buried five 3-pointers and finished with 16 points in the win. Taylor is averaging 8.9 points a contest and she knows has 31 3-pointers made on the season. Taylor is shooting 31.6 percent from beyond the arc and 34 percent from the field.
Male Athlete of the Week -- Kalen Williams-- Male Athlete of the Week for the Week Ending January 12 -- Kalen WIlliams, a freshman from Hephizibah, Georgia, had a nice game in a 105-102 loss to NJC on Jan. 10. The freshman finished with 19 points with an 8 of 8 performance from the free throw line. Williams added eight rebounds in the loss as well. Williams, in the first game back from the break, had eight points in a win over LCCC where he was 2-for-2 from the free throw line. Williams is averaging 9.4 points a game for the 11-6 Cougar men.
