The Western Nebraska Community College softball team dropped both games of Tuesday's conference doubleheader against Southeast Community College, falling 7–4 in Game One and 10–9 in walk‑off fashion in the nightcap.

WNCC will be back in action Saturday and Sunday when they travel to LaJunta, Colorado, for a conference 4-game series.

WNCC built an early advantage, but Southeast used a pair of big innings to rally past the Cougars 7–4 in Game One of Tuesday's matchup in Beatrice.

WNCC led 4–1 midway through the fifth after a home run from Tori Travers, but the Bobcats answered with a four‑run bottom half and a two‑run homer in the sixth to complete the comeback.

WNCC struck first in the second inning when Adi Duke delivered an RBI single to right, scoring Ellie Soper to tie the game 1–1. The Cougars added another run in the third as Soper had a 2-out single scoring Travers, giving WNCC a 2–1 lead. Travers then extended the advantage in the fifth, blasting a two‑run homer to left to make it 4–1.

Southeast responded immediately in the bottom of the fifth, capitalizing on a two‑run double and a WNCC outfield error to surge ahead 5–4. An inning later, the Bobcats added insurance, pushing the lead to 7–4.

WNCC finished with eight hits, including multi‑hit performances from Travers (2‑for‑3, HR, 2 RBI), Soper (2‑for‑4, RBI), and Duke (2‑for‑3, double, RBI). Mia Migliaccio took the loss in the circle.

Game two saw  WNCC respond with a big offensive performance in the nightcap but suffered a heartbreaking walk‑off loss in the bottom of the seventh as Southeast completed the sweep.

The Cougars collected nine runs on 13 hits, but three defensive errors proved costly. Southeast finished with 10 runs on 12 hits and committed no errors.

WNCC jumped out quickly when Travers led off the first inning with a solo home run to left. Later in the inning, Gracie Holm doubled to center field, scoring Jasmine Castro to make it 2–0.

WNCC added two more runs in the second inning as Travers doubled to left, driving in Emma Murdock and Hayley Blumenschein. Holm then homered to center in the third, extending the Cougars' lead to 5–1.

Southeast responded with two runs in the third and pulled even in the fourth, erupting for four runs highlighted by a two‑run home run. The Bobcats added two more runs in the sixth to push their lead to 9–6.

WNCC mounted a late rally in the seventh. Tina Horton and Castro led off the frame with back-to-back doubles. Holm followed with a triple to left, scoring Horton and Castro, then came home on a groundout by Duke to tie the game at 9–9.

In the bottom of the inning, Southeast loaded the bases before a ground ball resulted in a throwing error, allowing Southeast to score the winning run with two outs.

WNCC was paced offensively by Holm, who finished a single shy of hitting for the cycle. Holm went 3‑for‑3 with a double, triple, home run and four RBIs. Castro went 3‑for‑4 with an RBI and a triple, Travers was 2‑for‑4 with a home run, double and three RBIs, and Horton added a 2‑for‑4 performance with two doubles and two runs scored.
