High School Sports: Volleyball
High School Highlights: Karen played four years of varsity volleyball and was the best offensive player all four years. During her junior year, Karen was Top 20 in all of San Diego and teh San Diego Union-Tribune all academic team as well as well as the 2018 Mesa League Player of the Year. Her senior year saw her earn Player of the Year, Mesa Conference Player of the Year, Otay Ranch High School female athlete of the year, school record passing 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs, and earned a bid to the junior Olympics.
Other High School Activities: She played a lot of sports and now she said she plays volleyball and basketball with her family.
College Honors/Highlights: karen was named the Region IX South Freshman of the Year, a member of the all-regional team, and a spot ont he Omaha World Hearald All-Nebraska team MVP award.
Hobbies: Exercise
What advice do you have for young kids: "Never give up, be happy!"
Describe yourself in three words: Smart, dedicated, and strong-minded.
What are your goals at WNCC: Do well in school and volleyball. Win regionals to go to the next round. Get an athletic scholarship to a good academic/volleyball program.
What has the COVID-19 Pandemic taught you: "To value life more."
